The One Skillset No One Wants From Indigenous People, & The Skillset of Dystopian Survivalism

Image
I started growing Typha Latifolia a few years ago in my ponds, and I started to understand why this plant was revered by indigenous people across the globe. Although it is an invasive species in Hawaii. In the UK, it is one of many native wetland species, and it's an important plant for carbon capture. The annual biomass output from Typha is phenomenal. We could be cleaning our rivers and capturing CO2 into a plant that fills the cells within its leaves with CO2 and pressurises it.  HIGH CARBON DIOXIDE CONCENTRATIONS IN AERENCHYMA OF TYPHA LATIFOLIA Of course, this is more nuanced, but there is potential to capture CO2 in much higher concentrations than just the biomass. Typha has the potential to survive temperatures as high as  48°C, as well as at the Arctic Circle. This plant has been almost everywhere humans have in the last 100,000 years. Indigenous people have used typha for bedding, insulation, thatch, floor mats, medicine, food, fire lighting, arrow shafts & cordag...

The AI Shamanic Elder- Channeling the Spirit of Heyoka

Now 2034,  the Celtic Shamanic Dream is a grifted nightmare of emptied wallets and self delusion. Holding Space on Zoom. This is how they built back better in the post covid world. They created a world  of spiritual connection mediated by technology, it created disconnection but they told you we are connected and we fell for it. The Phygitall world is where the modern white shaman thrives. Meme driven Zoom call groups learning to connect to the web of life by only sitting under a tree. Having the home alter like every subcontinental household, because that was where this was learned, this pic'n'mix social media dependent digital spiritual connection to.. Ideas like this don't come out of nowhere. Someone has to think this stuff up The online computer generated world, combined with gaming, like World of War Craft the Shamanic Practitioner locked into the roleplay mindset is the healer of bit-warriors. Add to this the community chat and the fantasy world of the urban shaman wh...

What We Are Getting Wrong With Collapse Adaptation.

Image
First Published December 22nd 2025 What We Are Getting Wrong With Collapse Adaptation We are underestimating the combination of events we are already experiencing Severe Heat, combined with Wet Bulb Temperatures, can damage some plants, kill wildlife, and harm humans. Slow climate-driven failure of agriculture to provide the staples we need to survive: Wheat, barley and rye crop failures. We are already in a slow collapse Rice is already becoming toxic: "Rising global atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) concentrations and surface temperatures could negatively affect rice yields and  nutritional quality ; however, their effects on arsenic accumulation in  paddy  rice have not been assessed concurrently. We aimed to assess the impact of increases in CO 2  and temperature (individually and in combination) on arsenic concentrations in rice, characterise soil properties that might influence arsenic uptake, and model the associated risks of cancer and other health outcomes ...
