The prevalent image of the prepper is a right-wing, white, middle-class cis man in his 40s or 50s who stockpiles guns, food and ammunition, prioritised in roughly that order. You can watch reality TV shows about this guy, or YouTube channels made by him that might as well be titled How to Survive the Apocalypse Alone in the Woods with a Hatchet Eating Squirrels You Hunt With the Aforementioned Hatchet."
In Solidarity Prepping There's no expectation of any stereotypes like "Plucky humans roaming the post collaps countryside." in the same way that tropes like suggesting that life skills which indigenous people have maintained for 1000s of years are somehow backward and primitive while their rituals and paraphernalia are not to solidarity preppers is a deeply flawed ideology of colonial domination and misrepresentation in my opinion. Inventing these tropes is foolish and infantile.
#solidarityprepping is an inclusive, decentralised climate activist movement focused on antifascist preparedness, driven by mutual aid, skills-based, and science-led, with a no-nonsense approach.
Dr Gail Bradbrook wants to organise around collapse. So stop allowing other commentaters marginalising us as tinfoil hat cranks. Outdoor skills taught and developed over a long period of time in variety of natural environments change how you think and connect you deeply with nature. Challenges and working cooperatively teach students how to survive long term with difficulties like water shortages or a fule crosis. These skills are important for self-care and mental health first aid in nature. As well as self reliance.
These skills teach a calmness for the crises which climate change has thrown our way, but it has to be Solidarity Prepping because we aren't blacking out our houses so we can cower in the dark with hoarded food and power while the neighbours struggle through some crisis or other, or grab our go bag and run to the woods only too get stuck in traffic.
Solidarity Prepping or Prep Together is how we work together as communities to solve crisis which impact us locally. Ot is an international movement against Fascist notions of prepping as an exclusive activity paid for by their followers.
